The Journey

We can’t wait to see you in Campeche México! Ok, so Campeche is on the Gulf Coast of México, on the other side of the Yucatán Peninsula from Tulum. We plan on making this as much of a vacation as possible and would love to help you make a trip out of this whole wedding experience! We have events planned from Thursday evening through Sunday during the day – and everyone is invited. In order to get the most out of your Mexico experience, why not add a leg to your trip at the beginning or end? Please feel free to ask Andrea to help you plan it – she was a trip planner in her past life, after all!

Arrival: The local airport only accepts flights from Mexico City, so that is the route we’d recommend, especially because CDMX is the country’s biggest international airport with likely the best flight prices and trajectories! From there Campeche is an easy 1.5 hr flight from the capital and an easy 15 min taxi ride into the old town, which we will be taking over for the extra long weekend! Otherwise, the city of Mérida is 1.5 hrs away by car, so you could also start your journey there and then drive to Campeche.

Departure: So you can plan ahead! We suggest you leave Monday AM so you can enjoy what we have planned on Sunday, but also so you don’t have a rough morning the day after the wedding. Departing flights from Campeche to CDMX during this time are either at 8:30am, 11am, and 10:30pm, so plan your connecting flight accordingly.

Itinerary ideas:

A) Fly into CDMX on a round trip flight on Monday and enjoy 3 days exploring the cultural mecca that it is! Fly to Campeche on Thursday AM in time for our opening festivities that night. Stay in Campeche until Monday morning, fly back back to CDMX and then back to your origin country.

B) As mentioned above, Mérida is close to Campeche! If you’ve already been to CDMX, why not explore Mérida and then drive (or be driven) down! Mérida is the larger and the more well-known Colonial jewel of the Yucatán. Our venue has sister properties there (Hacienda Temozon, Hacienda San José, Hacienda Santa Rosa) and there are a ton of gorgeous AirBNBs to stay in as well. C) We’d like to encourage you to explore something other than beloved-circuit destination of Tulum, but if you must, fly one way into Cancun, then drive to Tulum, do your thing, and then you can drive inland to Merida, pit-stop there for a day or two and then head down to Campeche! FYI, this is a 5hr drive minimum. We’d suggest flying back through Campeche, then CDMX, then home, because driving back to Cancún is like, less fun.
